1 To combine academic activities with social service and to instill a sense of service to the nation, there are two units of the N.S.S. in the college.
Enrolment: Application for enrolment to the different units are invited at the beginning of the session by the N.S.S. Officer. A unit consists of fifty students and is headed by an N.S.S. Officer nominated by the principal from among the members of the staff.
Activities: After a student is enrolled and allotted a unit, he/she will have to attend camps and get involved in other activities as directed by the N.S.S. officers. Three camps are to be organized in a year for each unit. Some of the activities of the N.S.S. are:-
a) Cleanliness drive in the community around the camps and in the village nearby.
b) Instilling civic sense in the community and among the local people.
c) Literacy drive by such schemes as conducting Adult Literacy camps and Night schools.
d) Assisting the authorities in drives against social evils such as dowry system and caste feelings.
e) Plantation schemes.
f) Schemes for Rural Reconstruction.
g) Organisation of flood operation & relief camp.
h) Health camps for animals and human beings.
i) Women empowerment programme f and formation of Self-Help Groups.
j) Sarva Sikshya Ahhiyan Programme for the all round development of the students for the age group 6 to 14.
k) Preservation of Monuments in the Mahavinayak and Banadurga temple at Chandikhole & the Jagannath Temple at Dhanamandal.

The N.S.S. unit is working at present with the renowned N.G.O.-'Lok Vikash' to serve the suffering people of the society.
